Château de L’Hospital
The harvest process involves a meticulous approach, with a portion of the harvest being done by hand in the cool of the morning, ensuring optimal fruit quality.
The soil composition is characterized by a very fine terroir of clayey gravel resting on a limestone subsoil, contributing to the unique characteristics of the wine. The acceptance blend is crafted with precision, consisting of 80% Sauvignon and 20% Semillon.
Dedicated to quality over quantity, the vineyard spans 3 hectares, with a yield set at 20 hectolitres per hectare and a carefully managed density of 5,500 vines per hectare.
Following the harvest, the wine undergoes an ageing process, being aged on fine lees for 9 months, adding complexity and depth to the final product. The culmination of these efforts results in a production of 6,600 bottles, each embodying the distinctive qualities of the vineyard. This exceptional wine was bottled on February 13, 2023, representing a commitment to craftsmanship and delivering a wine of exceptional quality.
