Behind every bottle lies a story. Some tell the story of a terroir, others of a particular vintage. La Dame de l’Hospital is, above all, a story of heritage, transmission, and the remarkable women who have helped shape the history of the estate through the generations.
As Talleyrand once said, “Behind every great man stands an even greater woman.” This quote perfectly captures the spirit of this cuvée.
A Wine Inspired by Family History
Château de l’Hospital is an estate steeped in history, where generations have shared the same ambition: to preserve this exceptional heritage while showcasing the unique terroir of the Graves appellation.
The name La Dame de l’Hospital pays tribute to the women who have played a significant role in the estate’s history. Over the years, the property has been passed down from one generation to the next, often guided by strong female figures who have preserved its identity and contributed to its evolution.
This cuvée is dedicated to them. It embodies elegance, finesse, and character while remaining deeply rooted in the Bordeaux terroir.

Above All, a Wine to Be Enjoyed
La Dame de l’Hospital was created as an approachable, generous, and convivial wine.
Made from a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, it showcases the generosity of Bordeaux’s emblematic grape varieties.
Merlot brings ripe fruit, roundness, and a velvety texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and a subtle touch of spice.
The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness before being carefully vinified. To preserve the purity and freshness of the fruit, the wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel and concrete tanks, with no oak barrel ageing.
Tasting Notes

This is a wine made for sharing—unpretentious, yet full of personality.

More Than a Name, a Symbol

This cuvée reminds us that history is never written alone.
It is shaped by the women and men who, generation after generation, share the same passion, care for the vineyards, and preserve a unique savoir-faire passed down through time.
With La Dame de l’Hospital, we have sought to bottle a small part of that story: a sincere, generous wine that remains deeply connected to its roots.
